- I researched this program, as I was wondering if I would qualify. Although I have over $1M in assets, my "income" (taxable income) for 2012 was about $22,000. Turns out that IRA and 401(k) accounts are not looked at, when quantifying food stamp eligibility. Neither is your personal residence.
